Family Roles in Supporting Self-Determination and Self Advocacy - 31012
Participants will understand the family's role in supporting the exploration, planning, problem-solving, and advocating process, including how families can support a person with a disability to lead his or her own planning meetings and advocate for accommodations with employers and in various settings. Additional skill-building will include navigating difficult conversations or differences of opinion, both within the family and with potential supports, employers, etc.
