New Teacher Tech: Using Technology Resources to Increase Classroom Culture - 30636

Are you building classroom culture or just managing behavior? What is the difference? This session, developed for those new to the classroom (new teachers, alternatively certified teachers, etc.) or those who are returning to the classroom, will allow participants to walk away with a set of practical and immediately useful technology tools to add to their classroom tool belt. By identifying the tenets of positive classroom culture and leveraging classroom education technology, participants will be able to begin their path to addressing classroom management issues, adding voice and choice to their lessons and routines and building trust between educators and students. You will be empowered to manage, lead, and support your students in a way that helps build classroom culture and reduces the need for abrupt classroom management. Merging pedagogy and technology to address student engagement is easier than you might think!
