Navigating LPAC Collaboration with Other Programs & Committees - 30451

This session is meant for district-level leaders who are responsible for LPAC, ARD, 504, Dyslexia, and Advanced Academics/GT programs. The goal of the session is for participants to understand the roles of each committee and how the LPAC is responsible for the identification, program recommendation, and reclassification of an emergent bilingual student participating in other programs. In addition, the LPAC is responsible for collaborating with other committees. Myths and realities will be shared, such as, "Does the ARD 'trump' the LPAC?" ESC Region 11 experts from EL Support, Special Education, and Advanced Academics/GT will share important information about each program and its collaboration with the LPAC. We encourage district/charter school leaders in these areas to attend together.
