Give Me 5! Five Great Tools for Teaching and Supporting Unity or LAMP Words for Life - 30399
This product training will focus on five great tools to help teach and implement Unity and LAMP Words for Life. Participants will learn how to use Word Finder, Vocabulary Builder, PRC Application Support Software (PASS demo software), the AAC Language Lab, and Realize Language.
The class will start with a review of basic setup, operations, and programming. Then participants will learn about the five great teaching tools. Word Finder and Vocabulary Builder are onboard tools that allow you to find the location of a word and temporarily limits the amount of vocabulary appearing on the screen. Participants will learn how to use pre-made Vocabulary Builder activity sets and create vocabulary sets of their own. PASS demo software is a free download from https://www.prentrom.com/support/PASS/download-nuvoice-pass-software. With PASS, you will learn how to create low-tech boards and teaching materials. The training will conclude with a review of the lesson plans, books, games, and therapy resources available in the AAC Language Lab. In addition, participants will learn how to monitor, measure, and maximize the use of a PRC communication device by using data logging in conjunction with Realize Language.
Devices are not required for this training. If you choose to bring a device, please bring an Accent 800, 1000, 1200, or 1400, a PRiO, or an iPad (pre-loaded with LAMP Words for Life) running the latest version of the software. Participants can bring a PC laptop computer pre-loaded with PASS demo software and the appropriate language system. PASS software is not compatible with iPads.
This training is appropriate for SLPs, OTs, ATPs, educators, and others who support individuals who currently use or may need to use a PRC device.
