SLP Statewide Webinar #8: Bliss Tactile Symbols: Another Tool for your AAC Toolbox - 33731
Bliss tactile symbols are a new generation of tactile symbols that are brought together through the use of 3D-printing and the use of the established symbol system, Blissymbolics. These tactile symbols are easy to print and consistent. They are beneficial to support communication with non-speaking individuals who are blind, deaf/blind, or visually impaired, as well as students with complex communication needs. This session will introduce the Bliss tactile symbols, provide a brief history, describe the benefits, and provide implementation strategies. This session is aligned with the intervention components of the TEA-Required Self-Assessment and TEA Identified Areas of Non-Compliance.
