Statewide Speech-Language Pathology Webinar #4: AAC Assessment after Device Selection - 29642

Most of what has been written about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessment focuses on the selection of AAC apps, software, and devices. While it is essential to do those evaluations well, AAC assessment after device selection is equally important. In this webinar, participants will discuss the need for increased stakeholder involvement in the planning process; outline AAC Fair Testing Practices, which can be used as a blueprint for testing in clinical and academic settings; and discuss the use of language sampling and data logging. Participants will also gain insight into strategies for observational assessments, formal testing, and the use of informal protocols. The session will conclude with a discussion on interpreting, disseminating, and utilizing assessment results.
