Social-Emotional Teaching Strategies - The Pyramid Model (Module 2) - 29578
Children with healthy social-emotional skills are more likely to succeed in school, work, and life. The Pyramid Model is a framework of evidence-based practices for promoting young children's healthy social and emotional development. In Module Two of this three-part series, teachers will identify strategies to provide targeted supports to children at risk of challenging behavior. Topics include self-regulation, expressing and understanding emotions, social relationships, and problem-solving.

Prerequisite/Special Notes
This session is intended for early childhood educators. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend Module 1 before attending this module.
Objectives
Participants will:
* Discuss why it is important to be intentional about teaching social-emotional skills
* Identify strategies for supporting friendship skills
* Define emotional literacy and identify activities that build feeling vocabulary
* Understand why children need to learn to control anger and handle disappointment
