Making Music Braille - Learn How to Transcribe Music into Music Braille - 26381

This online workshop will be live and is intended for those who are teaching or plan to teach and/or transcribe music for their K-12 students. "Intro to Music Braille" covers fundamental topics in order for participants to successfully transcribe a simple piece of music by the end of the workshop. No musical background is required. SOFTWARE This is a hands-on training, and each attendee must have access to a working laptop or PC with a functioning camera and mic. Computers should be able to run the following (free) software applications: Zoom and PerkyDuck. Zoom will be used for interactive virtual presentations and the PerkyDuck braille software will be used to complete assignments. Topics: -Identifying Pitches in Print Music -Building Braille Notes -Measures & Double Bar Line -Music Titles & Format -Note Values -Accidentals -Intervals -Octaves -Identifying Clefs

Course Requirements -Sign up ten working days in advance so instructional material can be mailed. - A Gmail address to sign into Google Classroom; an invite code will be sent to participants to enroll in the online Classroom. - Complete the Pre-Course survey in the Google Classroom. - Each participant will need a Windows-based PC with a webcam and a microphone. (A headset is highly recommended as it can help eliminate background noises and distractions.) - Good bandwidth
