Step "Write" Up: Taking Writing Instruction from a Strikeout to a Home Run (Grades 7-12) - 24185
Do you struggle with building stamina, engagement, and purpose in your writers? Do your students see writing as a task, not a tool? In this session, we will examine ways to teach writing that will support the requirements of our new ELAR standards as well as help students use writing to become critical thinkers. We will engage in activities to help you learn how to use mentor texts in your writing, how to provide students with choice while maintaining the integrity of your instruction, and how to provide real-world application to help students find relevance to their lives in their writing work. Join us as we step up to the plate of championship writing instruction!
