The purpose of this online course is to ensure that teachers have the knowledge and skills to successfully teach literacy and language instruction that is grounded in the science of reading. In addition, this course will prepare participants for the Science of Teaching Reading exam that is required by the state of Texas.

Objectives
This course is for Region 14 alternative teacher certification candidates and is designed to allow candidates to progress through the Science of Teaching Reading Certification Preparation course as an online learner. The purpose of this online course is to ensure that teachers have the knowledge and skills to successfully teach literacy and language instruction that is grounded in the science of reading. In addition, this course will prepare participants for the STR Exam.
