Counseling Symposium Day 1: Impact Therapy - 36683

School-based mental health practitioners, whether providing IEP counseling services or simply routine school-based counseling, are under pressure to produce measurable results within a limited time period. Impact Therapy techniques “super-charge” standard counseling methods, providing experiential and concrete “hooks” that help participants remember and implement skills from their counseling sessions. Impact Therapy techniques can be utilized with most students, even those with limited cognitive abilities. Learn how to use concrete metaphors, props, and physical movement to help your students latch on to the skills and concepts you are presenting in your counseling sessions.
