These live sessions for the GoLead11 Superintendent Certification Program candidates provide information regarding the duties of a district superintendent. The GoLead11 Superintendent Specialist, as well as guest speakers who are experts in their fields, will provide in-depth information regarding, but not limited to, media relations and communications; effective leadership, decision-making, and delegation; budget development and financial management; legal issues, superintendent contracts, and the search firm process; school safety, security, and emergency planning; technology and the superintendent with a focus on customer service; political savvy as a champion for children and team-building; ethics, the educator code of conduct, and superintendent competencies; strategic planning, shared vision, district culture, and diversity and equity; curriculum needs, assessments, and continuous improvement; instructional leadership, motivational theories, and state and federal accountability; district and charter budget and finance; facilities funding, bond counsel, UIL, and extra- and co-curricular activities; human resources including hiring, supervision, development, and evaluation; board relations, board meetings and training, Team of Eight governance, the Open Meetings Act, and the Public Information Act; construction and the architect, decision-making tools, and TAPR review; learning organizations, demographics, and facilities planning; leadership under fire and the Open Meetings and Public Information Acts; superintendent responsibilities related to special programs; school maintenance and support services; motivation and change theories; book presentations; and stakeholder involvement.
