Unlocking Potential: Addressing Learning Differences Through Film and Primary Sources with Retro Report - 35052
Educators will explore effective strategies for teaching disciplinary literacy and primary source analysis to students with diverse learning needs, particularly those with language-based learning disabilities. Participants will gain hands-on experience with freely available scaffolded resources for the U.S. History and Civics/Government classroom. This professional development session combines a series of short-form documentary films along with resources from the Library of Congress to help students develop literacy, critical thinking and civic engagement skills. Coffee and lunch are provided, and participants will receive a $150 stipend upon completion of a pre- and post-session survey.
