Unlicensed Diabetes Care Assistants (UDCA) Training for School Professionals - 32866

This comprehensive training program is designed to equip school professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to serve as Unlicensed Diabetes Care Assistants (UDCAs) in educational settings. As mandated by Health and Safety Code Chapter 168, schools are required to have designated individuals to care for students with diabetes who are not health care professionals. This course prepares participants to fulfill this critical role.

Objectives
Participants will gain a thorough understanding of diabetes, including its types, symptoms, management techniques, and potential complications. Participants will learn about their roles and responsibilities as UDCAs including assisting with insulin administration, monitoring blood glucose levels, recognizing and responding to emergencies, and collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals, school staff, and parents/guardians.
