Sheltered Instruction Academy 2-Day (for Elementary) - 27934
(PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A TWO-DAY COURSE!) Sheltered Instruction allows for content to be comprehensible so that students can master grade-level standards and academic language simultaneously! Join us as we explore how to ensure that Sheltered Instruction is communicated, scaffolded, and differentiated in alignment with TEAs Language Program Implementation Rubrics. We will explore a wide-range of high-leverage best practices to allow students to develop their academic language across all four linguistic modalities: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We will also dive deep into Sheltered Instruction specifics, including: lesson planning, which integrates the ELPS & TELPAS; explicit instruction for vocabulary development; differentiated instruction; and designing and utilizing formative and summative assessments. This will be a face-to-face, two-day session worth 12 CPE credits.
