American Welding Society- AWS Basic and Advanced Teacher Certification class - 37499
This intensive three-day professional development training prepares high school welding instructors to perform, administer, and evaluate the full range of welder qualification tests their students pursue. Hosted in a fully equipped off-site welding lab and led by certified instructor demonstrators, the course bridges the gap between knowing about welder qualification and being personally certified through the same standards teachers approve for their students.
Participants may complete the basic track, the advanced track, or both, depending on their experience level and professional goals. All participants who complete the training receive professional development (PD) hours, college credit hours, a certificate of training, and — as applicable — welder certification and an online welder qualification/certification profile in the international certification registry.
The class will consist of course instructor demonstrations of all TEA welder testing certifications applicable to a high school welding lab. Participants will practice, test, and become certified in AWS D1.1, AWS D9.1, and/or AWS Certified welder certifications via radiography of welded connections, if necessary. Participants will receive training on how to administer, submit, view, and interpret welder qualification testing docs. Participants shall review and be ready to provide required documentation and interpretation of advanced welding IBCs. The instructor will provide opportunities for participants to earn up to the AWS certified welder certification if a participant has the skills necessary to be certified in this manner. Lastly, lesson plans and post-conference supports are provided to attendees by the instructor.
