Winter Wonderland: An Expanded Core Curriculum Event for Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) - 35757
This event, aligned with the legally-required BVI Expanded Core Curriculum, will provide an opportunity for students with visual impairments to explore the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of the holiday season through hands-on sensory stations, holiday music, themed crafts, and seasonal treats. This session addresses TEA Special Education Self-Assessment indicators #6, 8, 12, 22, and 23.

Objectives
Students will explore 3 sensory elements of winter (e.g., snow texture, jingle bell sounds, peppermint scent) through hands-on experiences.
Students will complete 1 fine motor activity.
Students will practice social skills by joining a group activity, such as a snowball toss or sing-along, taking turns, and interacting with peers or adults.
