Adapted PE 101 & All-level Unified PE in the School Setting: Inclusive Strategies and Success Stories - 32922
Join us for a comprehensive exploration into the world of Adapted Physical Education (APE) with "Adapted PE 101." In this enlightening workshop, we will take an in-depth look at a successful APE program, showcasing a model that spans from elementary to high school, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for students of all abilities. Lindsey and two former APE colleagues created a successfully adapted PE program continuum that has been successful for over ten years. The session will review an Adapted PE program overview, including an adapted equipment DIY, explore unified PE in middle and high school, and small group unified PE for medically fragile students. This session is aligned with the IEP implementation and Intervention component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.
