Bite Sized Behavior Training: Restorative Practices - 32683

The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework can be considered the umbrella for other support systems, such as data-based individualization (DBI), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), response to intervention (RtI), and positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS). An effective MTSS framework considers the variability of learners, supports in place, and equal access to the general curriculum. Through MTSS, schools identify students needing additional support and provide them with evidence-based interventions to reduce academic and behavioral gaps. Restorative Practice is a positive behavioral support that is part of that framework. In this session, participants will build awareness of restorative practices as a tool to develop identity-affirming schools and classrooms. This session aligns with the FAPE and Intervention component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.
