Paraprofessionals - Roles and Responsibilities - 31609
Paraprofessionals are essential members of our instructional teams. Identified through a myriad of titles and job descriptions, paraprofessionals' roles and responsibilities have evolved along with the need for increased instructional supports for diverse learners. This session will provide guidance on relationship building, roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder, and strategies to support communication and documentation as outlined in our state guidance document titled "Working with Paraprofessionals."
This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies and Teachers and Staff components of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
The learner will identify the roles and responsibilities of paraprofessionals.
The learner will explore how to build relationships and effectively communicate to ensure a student's needs are being met.
The learner will examine the legal obligations of the IEP, including documentation, data collection, and accommodations/modifications.
