ELPS: Talk-Tasks and Discourse in ALL Content Areas for Emergent Bilinguals & Newcomers - 31545

Oracy, or the ability to engage in academic discourse, is one of the primary indicators of Emergent Bilingual students' success in content and language development. Creating Talk-Tasks for language arts, social studies, math, and science allows teachers to break complex grade-level standards into comprehensible knowledge outlines grounded in high-leverage academic language. Help your Emergent Bilingual students, especially newcomers, master the high-leverage academic vocabulary inherent in the TEKs,so that they learn content and language simultaneously through meaningful, engaging Talk-Tasks!
