Introduction to an IEP for Parents - 29675

Section 300.322 of IDEA clearly states that parents/caregivers should be provided an opportunity for meaningful participation in the IEP process. This requires parents/caregivers first to understand the process. This session will help you understand the components of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and know what to expect before, during, and after an IEP/ARD meeting. Participants will learn about procedural safeguards, prior written notice, and other provisions of the law designed to ensure their meaningful participation. Participants will also walk away with federal and state resources to help them learn more if they choose.
