Mathematics Achievement Academy: Problem Solving and Discourse, Grade 1 - 27689

This session is a follow-up to the Mathematics Achievement Academy for Grade 1. In this blended learning opportunity, participants will attend a short face-to-face session, followed by an online component, and then return for another short face-to-face session. The face-to-face content will take a deep dive into formative assessment strategies, proficient problem solving, and facilitating student discourse through which students justify their mathematical thinking. The online learning experiences will focus on evaluating and increasing student mastery through self-reflection and improved professional practice.

MUST HAVE ATTENDED AN ORIGINAL MATHEMATICS ACHIEVEMENT ACADEMY. Participants should bring their own laptop/device for use in the session. Available to teachers at campuses on the Region 11 List of Priority Campuses posted at https://tea.texas.gov/curriculum/academies
