Do They See What You Hear? A Blended Workshop for Educational Sign Language Interpreters - 27046

This blended-learning session (three hours of virtual, synchronous training + three hours of online, asynchronous learning) will focus on implementing best practices in educational interpreting and navigating educational situations in an ethical and professional manner. Participants will discuss and practice how to convey what is heard in a classroom and how to ensure that students who are deaf/hard of hearing have equal access to communication. The virtual, synchronous portion of this training will be presented in spoken English. Sign language interpreters are available if requested FIVE days before the virtual session. Participants are expected to complete all six hours of this training (partial credit will not be awarded), and they must have their cameras on throughout the synchronous portion of the training. Those who complete all six hours of training will receive 0.6 BEI CEUs.
