TELPAS Success: Developing Language Acquisition in Listening and Speaking - 29377

TELPAS is not merely the accountability measure for our Emergent Bilingual (EBs) students. Success on TELPAS demonstrates that our EBs are genuinely mastering the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and growing in ALL language modalities! Join us as we explore how to intentionally develop students' academic linguistic abilities in listening and speaking. We will explore a number of best practices that further these specific modalities, including Total Physical Response, choosing and pre-teaching academic vocabulary aligned with the TEKS, sentence stems/frames, planned interactions with language partners, and more! This is a face-to-face session, and participants will earn 6 CPE credits.
