Safe and Civil Schools CHAMPS: A Proactive and Positive Approach to Classroom Management - 29328
Student misbehavior is one of the leading causes of teacher frustration. CHAMPS translates the research on effective classroom and behavior management into easy-to-implement steps for classroom teachers as they strive to clarify learning expectations so all students can thrive and feel motivated to learn. In this session, participants will learn practical strategies to reduce misbehavior, giving them more time to focus on providing high-quality instruction and ensuring student success. Participants will also receive a copy of the CHAMPS textbook (3rd ed.) for future reference.

Objectives
The learner will be able to:
**Employ CHAMPS strategies to teach positive behavior expectations
**Create schedules and structures that proactively address student behavior in the classroom and other areas throughout the school
**Develop a system of consequences to address misbehavior and off-task behavior that is consistent and responsive to students' needs
