Evaluation in Adapted Physical Education - 28690

Ensuring students with special needs are able to participate fully in physical education activities is a must for helping them develop self-confidence, build peer relationships, and master various skills. In this session, we address the question of how educators can work with students with special needs to maximize their physical education experience. We will explore many different evaluation tools to determine what areas they assess, when they are used, and for whom they are used. We will also discuss issues relative to legal implications of evaluation, analyzing data, making placement recommendations, writing reports, and developing new standards-based IEPs. Participants will have opportunities for group practice and activities.
