Bite-Sized Summer Learning Series: Educational Sensory Rooms - 28031
Do you have two hours? Then join us this summer as we offer a series of online mini sessions on evidence-based strategies that will help you improve student learning. The intended outcome is that participants will increase their repertoire of effective learning strategies for learners with unique learning needs.
Do you have a sensory room or want to create one? This workshop explores all the factors to consider when creating this educational space, including developing physical areas based on students' sensory needs, connecting sensory activities to the TEKS, and sharing needed knowledge and information with staff who work in the room. We will look at ideas for materials, equipment, and evidence-based practices to structure the environment. Participants will be given access to a guidebook to help with planning a sensory room that meets their district needs.
