Assessment: Summer Institute (virtual) - Day 1 - 27969
This assessment institute will offer two days of opportunities to grow. Day 1 will have two sessions, Ethics in the morning and Diversity in the afternoon; this day will be geared toward LSSPs' required courses for licensure.
Day 1: "Ensuring Principles for Professional Ethics in the School Setting" Presented by Ashley Arnold, M.A. LSSP, NCSP is an Assessment Consultant with Western Psychological Services (WPS).
Day 2: "It Gets Better" and You Can Help: Support and Understanding of LGBT Youth and Families in Schools" Presented by Dr. Laura Renken

Objectives
In the ethics workshop, participants will discuss common ethical dilemmas in the school setting faced by the LSSPs. Participants will review various sources such as FERPA, NASP Ethical Standards, TSBEP Board Rules, and IDEA to determine the appropriate course of action. The workshop is interactive, and participants are encouraged to ask questions.
Diversity: Information shared regarding the community in general and how LGBTQ+ issues can be handled in schools.
