Sheltered Instruction Academy: EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION FOR VOCABULARY DEVELOPMENT - 27949
(PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A TWO-DAY COURSE!) Sheltered Instruction is the bedrock of pedagogical methods in the bilingual classroom. Sheltered Instruction allows for content to be comprehensible so that students can master grade-level standards and academic language simultaneously! Join us as we explore making content comprehensible through the explicit teaching of rigorous academic language that is directly aligned with the TEKS. We will also practice a variety of research-based best practices such as Total Physical Response, using Morphemes, Frayer Models, and Effective Interactive Word Walls as well as others! These are virtual sessions via Zoom and participants will earn 3 CPE credits.
