Learning to Code with Python on TI-Nspire CX II Technology - 27903
This workshop is designed for teachers interested in introducing Python coding to their students using TI-Nspire CX II technology. The workshop introduces the basics of Python coding principles, including logic, selection statements, and loops. In addition, a focus will be on coding topics, which will reinforce students understanding of curriculum concepts. By the end of the workshop, participants will be comfortable with:
- Starting a new program, writing a program to display text, and running the program
- Using global and local variables in a program and understanding the differences between global and local variables
- Writing input statements and statements using IF and conditions
- Using loop structures, importing modules, and determining errors in a program
To participate in this training, you will need to bring a laptop computer and comply with software prerequisites.
Audiences
CTE (Career and Technical Education) Personnel, Teacher - High School (Grades 9-12), Title I, Part C, Carl D Perkins Grant SSA Members, Teacher - Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Prerequisite/Special Notes
Must bring a fully-charged laptop with the TI Nspire Premium Teacher Software installed from this link: https://education.ti.com/en/downloads/trial-software. We will provide an activation code for the software so you will be able to expand your skills with Python on TI Nspire CX II Technology on the day of training. In the meantime, run the software in trial mode. NOTE: You will need administrator rights on the laptop you are loading with TI Nspire Premium Software.
