This virtual workshop is designed to help eighth-grade and eleventh-grade U.S. History teachers emphasize the economic aspects of important events in American History. The workshop will cover the economic underpinnings of the Constitution, examining why the colonists chose to fight, the origins and implications of the Great Depression, and the question of whether free trade is out of date, among other topics. All participating teachers will receive a copy of Economic Episodes in American History at the workshop and will have a classroom set of 20 more copies shipped to them. In addition, participating teachers will receive a stipend of $100.00. To receive the texts and stipend, the teachers must attend the entire program.
