Critical Literacy: Authenticity without Toxicity in Classroom Discussions - 26475
This session seeks to help you build critical literacy skills in your middle/high school students. Regardless of topic, text, or task, it is important that students are able to engage in dialogue and discussion that is meaningful, respectful, and empathetic. Sometimes, however, tough talks result in anger, polarized viewpoints, and an overall toxic environment. In this session, we will explore structures, principals, and activities that can help you feel more comfortable engaging in difficult discussions in your classroom.
