Discovering the INDIVIDUAL in the IEP - 24484
From age 3 through 21, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is created to prepare programming to support the student's educational needs. Students are complex with many different interests, values, behaviors, and ways to communicate. It is a challenge for educators to discover ways to clearly understand and motivate the student to learn and become self-directed. By using Person-Centered Thinking skills, educators can have a better understanding of what is important TO and FOR the students and their families, learn what works and doesn't work, and determine a support system for the student to create a truly individualized program.
