Who Said Teaching Boys Was Challenging? - 24182
What does the popular saying “Boys will be boys" really mean? In this three-part series, we will explore the culturalization and learning needs of boys from diverse backgrounds as well as the social nuances that influence how boys interact with educators and how we interact with them. The first session will focus on the needs of boys, in a general sense, and provide strategies for creating responsive learning environments. Session two will focus on the cultural needs of African-American and Latino boys, and session three will address the growing concern about the under-performance of Caucasian boys in a culture focused on meeting the needs of our majority-minority learners. It is recommended that participants attend all three parts of the series to receive maximum benefit; however, participants may register for each session individually.
