Responding to Changing Demographics - 23969

Participants will examine how changing demographics at the national, state, and local levels impact district/campus policies and practices as well as the relationship between teaching and learning in the classroom. Participants will walk away with resources and strategies that help schools proactively address the socio-economic and cultural needs of such a diverse student population.

Prerequisite/Special Notes
Learners will need to bring a charged device (iPad, Laptop, Chromebook, Tablet, etc.) to participate fully. Learners may use their cellphone; however, authentic participation may be limited.
Objectives
TLW be able to analyze the demographic data available through various national and state resources in order to plan for the needs of a diverse student population. TLW know national trends impacting education across the country and determine how those trends may be applicable to their own districts and campuses. TLW understand that change is inevitable and planning for demographic changes needs to be part of the district and campus strategic plan from year to year.
