DESCRIPTION:Evaluation data do not always line up neatly. A student may earn average cognitive scores but struggle significantly in the classroom, demonstrate strong achievement in one area and unexpected weaknesses in another, or show patterns that raise more questions than answers.
In this evaluator-focused session, participants will use the Woodcock-Johnson® V Cognitive, Achievement, and Virtual Test Library batteries to investigate complex and conflicting evaluation data. Through realistic student cases, participants will practice selecting tests with purpose, examining meaningful patterns across multiple data sources, identifying strengths that may mask areas of need, and determining when additional assessment is warranted. The session moves beyond simply reporting standard scores to help evaluators develop defensible interpretations, make better-informed eligibility decisions, and translate findings into recommendations that lead to meaningful action.
