DESCRIPTION:SKI-HI is a family-centered curriculum designed to support families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing between the ages of birth and five. It has been a commonly used tool for teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing working in early intervention (aka parent advisors) since the 1970s, and it continues to be an important tool today. This statewide workshop will discuss each of the SKI-HI units and will show how SKI-HI can be integrated into the coaching approach used in Early Childhood Intervention services. Participants will also learn about other resources and tools that, when combined with the SKI-HI curriculum, create a robust toolbox with which to coach and support families with infants and toddlers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind.
