DESCRIPTION:Join Michael Tucker (Region 11), Amber Davies (Region 14), and Jessica Flores (Region 15) as we explore neurodiversity and autism in the school setting. Our special guests for this hour are Jennifer Brandt and Kelsey Wigington from ESC Region 7. Do you have a sensory room or want to develop one? Ideas for training staff, establishing guidelines, using equipment, and visually structuring the environment to address specific student needs are the focus of this session. Can these rooms be academic? Absolutely! Participants will explore how to merge TEKS and sensory activities to increase learning opportunities and improve academic performance.

This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.

**This is a virtual PLC format and is a collaboration between ESC Regions 11 and 14. The target audience is educators in Regions 11 and 14.**
