DESCRIPTION:(PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TWO-DAY COURSE!) Sheltered Instruction is the bedrock of pedagogical methods in the bilingual classroom.  Sheltered Instruction allows for content to be comprehensible so that students can master grade-level standards and academic language simultaneously!  Join us as we explore how to ensure that Sheltered Instruction is communicated, scaffolded, and differentiated in alignment with TEA's Language Program Implementation Rubrics.  Some of the key features of this session include tools to ensure that Sheltered Instruction provides instructional equity for ELs learning English and English-dominant students learning a partner language within the Dual Language Immersion framework.  This will be two virtual sessions via Zoom, and participants will earn six (6) hours of CPE credit.
