Blind and Visually Impaired Event: Expanded Core Curriculum Recreation and Leisure (in Denton ISD) - 33133
In this unique session, students who are blind or visually impaired and the staff who serve them will ride various bicycles, including tandem bicycles, and play Beep Baseball. Through hands-on, participatory activities, presenters will discuss the importance of exercise, recreation, leisure, and safety. This session addresses Special Education Self Assessment indicators 12, 18, 22, and 23.

Prerequisite/Special Notes
Participants must be students with visual impairments or staff that works with students with visual impairments.
Objectives
Students with visual impairments, families, and staff will encourage exercise, recreation, and leisure through bike riding.
Participants will learn about bicycle safety and which bikes work best for students with visual impairments.
Participants will play Beep Baseball.
